2023 Chappellet Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon
“The OG of high-elevation vineyard planting in Napa Valley’s modern era, Chappellet was founded by Donn and Molly Chappellet in the late 1960s. On the advice of André Tchelistcheff, they planted Cabernet Sauvignon on the rocky slopes of Pritchard Hill, which remains one of the valley’s top growing sites. Run today by Donn and Molly’s eldest son, Cyril, Chappellet has remained true to its mission to make a wine that rivals the best Bordeaux. Made with 95 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 5 percent Petit Verdot grown in a perfect season, this powerful wine was aged for 22 months in 100 percent new French oak barrels.
